Kueh Cafe in Subang Jaya offers a laid-back cafe experience that feels a little different from your typical kopitiam or mall food court. Nestled on Jalan SS 18, this spot blends casual dining with a local warong vibe elevated to a more relaxed and unrushed setting. It’s the kind of place where people drop by for a slow breakfast or catch-up session over traditional Malay and Nyonya kueh muih alongside hearty regional dishes.

The atmosphere here is unpretentious yet comfortable, making it popular among locals who want a break from the usual fast pace. Morning and early afternoon visits tend to be the best times, with regulars coming in for freshly brewed hot cappuccinos, teh tarik, and kopi – often made to order with care that stands out from standard fare. The cafe’s coffee and tea are a highlight, appreciated by those who enjoy a robust local-style cup alongside their meal or snack.

What sets Kueh Cafe apart is the mix of traditional flavors served in generous portions: Nasi Lemak with ayam masak merah, bihun soto ayam, and the prawn fritters with peanut sauce are among the dishes that get positive nods. The kueh muih selection caters well to those craving classic Malay sweets or something to nibble on between bites of main courses. This balance makes it practical for anyone looking for a comforting breakfast, lunch, or casual light meal.

The clientele leans towards locals who prefer a more intimate, non-commercial spot for food and conversation. It’s a place where the pace isn’t hurried, inviting guests to linger over food and drinks. If you want to avoid the louder kopitiam crowd or busy mall eateries, Kueh Cafe provides a quieter alternative without sacrificing the flavors and heartiness of traditional offerings.

While some find the prices a little higher than typical street stalls, many feel the quality and portion sizes justify it. The shop’s location in Subang Jaya makes it a convenient spot for residents or workers nearby who want something homey and flavorful without trekking into the city center.

In summary, Kueh Cafe is best for those who appreciate traditional Malaysian cuisine served in a relaxed, casual cafe setting — especially if you enjoy a well-made cup of kopi or teh tarik accompanying your meal. It fits a niche for thoughtful locals seeking nostalgic flavors with a comfortable dining pace, ideal for weekday mornings or quiet weekend brunches.

A very unique take on warong styled casual dining experience within. This place puts it several notches higher compared to what you typically encounter from the street or shopping malls. The ambience within is relaxed and unrushed, absolutely fantastic. If there's one thing really good here asides from their large selection of kuih muih, it's the freshly made-to-order teh and kopi beverages. The drinks are an almost perfect compliment to whatever dish you have ordered from the menu. Come around for late breakfast or brunch and make an order for fresh lempeng, a savoury pancake like snack served with sambal ikan bilis. It, is, to die for. Warmly recommended whenever life gets too hectic outside and you need a brief getaway from the rush.

First time here. Nasi lemak costs me RM5.90 and the lempeng with sambal daging costs me RM7.90 a bit expensive. Nasi lemak tastes good with the sambal a bit of spicy and sweet. Kueh tasted good. Definitely will repeat again

Our go to place for a quick catchup over breakfast plus my friend loves teh tarik so much and they have decent teh tarik here. All food are equally tasty, the kueh and the nasi dishes. A good alternative to other regular kopitiam franchise. I wish Kueh Cafe would open up more outlets in the future. Perhaps at the Glades Plaza Putra Heights hehe

Our place to go for "Kueh" local snacks as appetizer or dessert; Malay and nyonya style in packets. There are also "bubur" or sweet porridge (green beans or black glutenous rice). Other popular dishes are "roti jala" (net bread or lace pancake) with chicken curry, "cucur udang" (prawn fritters) with peanut sauce and "ubi rebus" (boiled cassava) serve with "sambal ikan bilis" (mild spicy chili paste with anchovies). There are also light dishes like nasi lemak, nasi tomato, laksa utara and soto. They also have good "teh tarik" and reasonably good coffee.
